Have you ever been locked outside the house? You must have some time been in such situation. May I know what you did then? 1. Doors
Either it is the front door or back door, both should be equipped with the best lock available. The power of locks is good only if the door is made up of solid wood. The hollow-core doors can be opened by swift kick. Hence it is always advisable that you should use solid core doors for the front and backdoor. The front door is always found very strong. However it is the back door which suffers. Hence you should make sure that back door is equally strong as the front door.

2. Mortise locks
Mortise locks are concealed by either fitting at the side of the door or in the middle of the door. They can not be forced away from the door. Before using the mortise lock, you should make sure that there are at least five levers in the lock.

3. Deadlocks
You can also use double cylinder deadlock, which can be locked for inside and outside and can not be opened without a key. Hence even if the thief gets inside your room, he will not be able to escape through the door. The Lockwood deadlock is the perfect example of this kind of locks.

4. Entrance sets
Rim locks are mounted on the surface of the door and are easily installed by the home handy person. However the rim lock does not guaranty the security of more expensive locks.
